great fun with no-fishing

blast! this year, the fish seem to take a nap... we've been out at lost lake three times now, not a single bite. maybe they just got really, really smart. :)

nevertheless, its always a great time out, hanging at beautiful lost lake.

raclette with fabia

fabia invited us for dinner the other day: raclette at her house. for those nt familiar with raclette: thats a speciality from switzerland with lots of cheese and some other ingredients that each one can put together himself and fry in a small pan. DE-licious.

before dinner, we had a small tattoo session, where alex, schmidi and i got tattoed with the official COC mascot, a marmot.

we also found that huge bear in the livingroom and had some mad fun with him.

thanks alot for everything, fabia & you are more than welcome for our 'schnitzel dinner', when our crew cook captain peter will fry some insane piles of meat!

clouds, clouds, clouds...

perfect weather down in the valley, though thick clouds in and around the park put our patience on the test today... park is looking good, lots of campers, still no shooting today due to those little fuckers a.k.a. clouds.

waiting for quite some hours, we had to get creative, not to get bored. we tried out some goggle/shade styles...

also, we decided, that those gaylord skiers deserve a little diss today. this one funny guy reminded us of 'laverne' one figure from the infamous game 'day of the last tentacle'. this reminded alex to ask me for the game and i think he will be off playing for the next couple of days...

check out peter's steeze with his frontflips over the 35m table:

sho-ping in wank-over

saturday is traditionally the reshaping day (meaning a downday) at the COC, so its perfect to drive down to vancouver for some shopping. we slept long after the mexican party and finally geared up at noon and hopped in the car. some serios shopping to do.

from serious to goof, everybody got what he was looking for. the sublines for today are:

- nike has the best running gear in the world
- jordy laforge glasses are so next millenium
- leather biker jackets are so PK
- 13" macbook pro is so much better than 15"

after the shopping frenzy, we rewarded ourselves with a delicious dinner at earls. for those not familiar with the earls chain: thats like coyote ugly, just with food :D

poor alex had to drive us back up to whistler... i promised him to stay awake, worked for 5 minutes or so... as you can see on the left picture, i was not the only one. luckily, alex was on speed, so we arrived back home in whistler in record time.

check Alex's blog for more artsy picures :)

mexican party - garfs

party time again like every friday at garfs... motto: mexican! what can i say? we sure did miss xaver, garfs is just not the same without him. peter bravely followed his footsteps and threw one round after the other (might have been 80 vodka cranberries in the end)... the night ended in some late night pizza place as every time.

no arrests this time :)

(from left to right: ludde lejkner, pancho, christophe schmidt, nico jentsch, peter könig, alex tank, alex schiller, sancho, torstein horgmo, andreas wiig)

took me quite a while to capture alex' MJ tribute moves on foto. thanks alex for the patience & i feel sorry for your toes :D

good weather. finally.

okay, 'finally' might be a bit unfair, as we just had one downday since our arrival... but on the other hand we had arrived from a horrible one-week-euro-summer-sadness, so we were all kind of longing to see the sun. it didn't look too good in the morning when we got up, but it cleared up more and more.

due to the massiveness of the quarterpipe (solid 1.5 meters, see picture above), we decided to shoot the stairset with ludde (pic below) and alex (pic on top) today... some serious shredalicious action going down! oida, leck!

going down the 3 chairlifts with a bus ride in between does not suck as much as it might sound... 25 degrees and a nice view towards the valley are always a nice way to complete the busy part of the day.

now off for some fishing, we need some more stuff for the BBQ grill tonight!

konichiwa, sushi village

yeah, sushi village is always a good tradition here in whistler. delicious sushi, great appetizers and insane strawberry margheritas make the visit an absolute must! so as a kind of reward for being punished with such bad weather, we decided to go for dinner there...

xaver's record breaking a AND b-combo was out of reach today, still we did not make the whole thing. now to bed, as the weather is (hopefully) supposed to be good tomorrow...

yummy BC weather

wow... we hit ground in whistler late last night. unfortunately not sooo good news here. seems, we brought the 'european summer' with us. raining cats & dogs, 12 degrees C... also, we got word, that there is no working QP yet, which would be a bummer. the crib is sick though, sharing room with alex and peter.

gonna use the day for some organizational stuff, some grocery shopping and maybe some fishing later on.

on the road to vancouver (updated)

it's about time for the annual trip to whistler for some extra trick tip stuff to shoot. didn't bother me too much, leaving the shitty weather in germany... peter könig is on the road with me (actually just taking a shower in the business lounge... hahaha) and we gonna stay with the isenseven crew. heared, that fabia has set up a nice crib for us to stay!

note the sticker on my flash battery (which won't be there for much longer), it was almost refused at the security, for the term 'lead-acid'... They just ignored the word 'sealed'... well, good by then, old sticker and welcome 'contains fluffy pink baby food' sticker :D

funny intermezzo at the newsstand at munich airport: peter found himself on the cover of our actual summer issue, and he just HAD to buy it!... thanks peter, this pays us a liter of mineral water each :D

UPDATE: of course, i did NOT remove the sticker, although i had 8 boring hours on the plane and as a result had MASSIVE complaints by the security in montreal... after explaining for almost an hour, i finally found one helpful guy, who made the necessary phonecalls and escorted me through security. finally. i already saw myself strolling through nocturnal vancouver in search for a replacement battery. :D

windsurfing chiemsee :)

yeah, what a perfect holiday today! a low pressure system moving fast over south germany brought sunshine (sic!) and really strong wind, so we went to our nearest lake (chiemsee) for some windsurfing. and what a day it was! my whole high wind gear still located down in karpathos it was quite a mission to go through the old equipment at home and find some small stuff. in the end, i borrowed heidi's board and could barely hold my old 5,0 sail.

i can't remember, how often i have already been driving down to chieming, finding the lake flat like a mirror, but not so today. also, i never have seen the parking lot packed with cars this way. it was also pretty full on the water, still good to sail.

oh my god, it's the funky shit...

back home-home again... and confronted with piles of shots to edit. season's submissions from more than 50 photographers have arrived and now its time to get some shit done. eero's interview is due for the first issue, same as a bunch of other features. trying to get as much stuff as possible done right now before the big summer break!

can somebody get me an air condition for my home office? :D
